Internal Collection Procedures Guideline
Assuming your clients are on net 30 terms, here is a very simple approach to managing your accounts receivable.
- 30 days, your client receives an invoice.
- 60 days, you send another invoice, and maybe follow up with a phone call.
- 90 days, you send your 3rd invoice, place another phone call, and maybe follow up with a letter. Call Manning Price and Stern to find out if this client is currently in collections. It’s free…
- 110 days send an invoice, make another call, and send a 10 day demand letter.
- 120 – if payment has not been received – send to collections.
